WHY SHOULD I GO TO CHURCH ???

I SHOULD GO TO CHURCH

BECAUSE I AM A CHRISTIAN:                                                   If you call yourself a Christian, you are saying that you are trying to be like Christ. If you are trying to be like Christ, listen to this. The Bible says that Christ went to the synagogue regularly. “He went to Nazareth where He was brought up, and on the Sabbath day He went into the synagogue, as His custom was. And he stood up to read.” (Luke 4:16). It was Jesus custom to go to church. As Christians, we need to remember that the church was the most important thing to Christ while He was on earth. In fact, it was so important to Him that He gave His life for it. Eph. 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her.” Christian, you cannot love Christ without loving the church. If you are a child of God’s, you will love the church. I John 5:2,3 tells us how to test our love for Christ, “This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out His commands. This is love for God: to obey His commands.” If we are trying to be like Christ, we will be willing to give our life for the church, because Christ did.

BECAUSE I LOVE THE CHURCH:                                           The Bible tells us that the church is all the people of God, all Christians. To love the church means to love the Christians, God’s children. I John 3:14 says, “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love our brother.” You need to remember that Christians are the people you will be spending eternity with. Think about how sad it would for any Christian to die, go to Heaven, and not know anyone there. God created man for fellowship with Him and each other. I John 1:7 says, ‘But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, purifies us from all sins.” Christians need to remember that the un-saved are enemies of God. They don’t like the things of God or the people of God. As Christians, we can only fine real happiness around people who believe like we do. We are warned by God not to look to the unbelievers for our needs. I Corinthians 6:14-16 says, “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What agreement is there between the temple and idols? Christianity just doesn’t agree with enemy of God.

BECAUSE IT IS A COMMAND OF GOD                                  We are told in God’s Word, Do not merely listen to the word and so to deceive yourself, do what it says. This means we must do what God says. if we don’t we aren’t really Christians at all. If we only listen to God’s Word and not act on it, we are not different that the unbelievers. They know about God, but they don’t live for Him. Christians are different, that is why we live our lives different. We are different, that is why we go to church because Hebrews 10:25 says, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habits of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

BECAUSE CHRISTIANITY IS A LIFESYTLE.              Christianity is not only what one professes but also the way one lives their life. I go to church because I am a Christian. I go to church to fellowship with other Christian because I loved God and other Christian. I go to church to praise the Lord. These were some of the reasons the early church meet with each other,”…..They broke bread in their homes and ate with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”          Act 2:46,47.

WHAT ABOUT YOU                                                                      Are you a Christian? Do you love Jesus as He loves you? Are you obedient to His Word? Does your life tell people around you that you are one of His children? Does your life say I love you Jesus? Remember James 2:18, says people will know what you are by the way you live your life, “But some will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.”
