One Thousand Years

   Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a perfect world, well in this message on eschatology that is what we will be looking at. The time span we will be looking at is a 1000 years, this is where the word millennium comes in. Millennium comes from the Latin word meaning a thousand years. This doctrine believes that Christ will reign over an earthly kingdom for a thousand years. It implies that Christ will come back before the millennium. This is known as the doctrine of pre-millennialism. Today we want to take a look at God’s Word so you can know what and why you believe in the millennial reign. The word millennium does not occur in the Bible, but the thousand years are mentioned some six times in (Rev 20:2-7). We believe in the pre-millennial coming of Christ. From the bible we can read about Christ coming, bring judgment at the close of the tribulation period. At this point the eternal state will not be ushered in. Rather Christ will restore the kingdom to Israel and reign for at least 1000 years. As a pre-millennialism I believe the promise of the fulfillment of the covenant and promise to Israel in the O T demand such an earthly kingdom. The millennium will be the last of, the ordered ages of time. Eternity will not! dawn until the millennium is complete. ( Isa 65:17) For, behold I create a new heaven and  a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind, (II Peter 3:13) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness lives.

               I.      Yes this will be a literal 1000 years and finally man will have rest from Satan after battling him for 6000 years. Nevertheless Christ will reign and  all his saints with Him. Yes friends the day is coming when the world will be as perfect as we can imagine.

             II.      This millennial will begin when Jesus returns to the earth with his saints. (Zech 14:4,9) And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of olives, which is before Jerusalem, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst there of toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north and half of it toward the  south, And the Lord shall there be one Lord, and his name one. Now Jesus has return to reign as king of king and Lord. Now the world with all it’s many different religions will know the truth about salvation. All those who say there are many different ways for salvation will know the truth but friends it will be to late then. Those that look to other ways of salvation will be late. People will finally know there is only one God. Yes, the world of which only, one fourth profess Jesus will know the truth but it will be  to late for the other three fourth. Friends if you have never gotten on your knees and excepted Jesus as Lord and Savior do that right now, don’t wait, you may not live to hear the end of this message. Accept Jesus this day and when he returns you can go home with him. Friends you have nothing to lose by accepting Jesus. You can gain eternity with Him and you can return with him to reign for a 1000 years on earth. Yes friends He will be the sole object of worshiping Buddha, Harry Krishna, or the idols people carry of Mary, only Jesus, not Mohammad only Jesus, no Hindus leader, only Jesus! Praise God only Jesus will rule and reign.

 Another good thing about this 1000 years is.

            III.      All of creation will be at rest”” no more lions killing others animals for food, they will be at rest. Yes even the earth will be at rest there will be no more earthquakes (Isa 11:6,7) the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb and the liporad shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together and a little child lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed their young ones and shall lie down together and the lion shall eat straw like ox (Isa 35:1) The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. Yes, friends that will be a reality someday, you will not have to worry about some wild animal harming one of your children because they will play together at that time like they do with puppies now.

         IV.      People will live very long lives (Isa 65:20,22) "There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days; for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat. For as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands", oh, what a time that will be no more young children dying, they will be at least a 100 years old. Friends this is the day everyone has been waiting for what a day of rejoicing that will be.   In this verses we see the phrase “day of a tree” this refers to longevity. In fact many will live to be an thousand years old. Now I think that is what every one is looking for. Friends although people will live long and enjoy good health, the same thing that brought death and sickness in our days will be doing the same in this perfect life. Yes, with Jesus here on earth with all his saints, people will still sin. Notice verse 20 “but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed”. Yes, not everyone will enjoy good health because sin will be present to rob man again, just like it does today. There are many people reading this message which who are hurting because of sin. Yes, maybe it wasn’t your sin it could have been the results of someone else's sin. Many are in jail today because of sin Friends turn your heart to Jesus.( Turn from sin today)

           V.       In the millennium, prayer will be answered without delay (Isa 65:24) "And it shall come to pass that before they call I will answer; and while they are yet speaking I will hear", Praise God; won’t that be great to have your prayers answered while you are still asking, yes God will know your heart and your desires Yes friends, I don’t think we will be doing to much praying because Jesus will be King! And our wants and desires will be limited.

         VI.      Physical ailments will cease (Isa 35:5,7) "Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing; for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and steams in the desert. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped". Friends there are a lot of people rejoicing to the words of this message, knowing that one day they can sing praises to the Lord God, with a good voice. Do you think God for your good eyes to see all God’s great creation, and do you thank God that you have two good feet and legs to walk to church and worship Him? I pray that you do right now, take a few seconds just to say thank you God for my two feet, my two eyes and a voice to praise you with.

        VII.      Although Satan is locked in prison there will still be some sin it will not be like it is today because Satan will not be here influence people Yes, according to God’s word He will be locked into His prison. (Rev 20:2,1) "and I saw an angel come down out from heaven having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan and bound a thousand years". Friends, I heard a preacher in America one day on the radio say, that Satan couldn’t be bound with a chain because he was a spirit. Friends, he limited God! I am a preacher who says Satan can be bound with a chain. It is probably not be the type of chain we know about, but you can be sure it is a chain of some kind, because God’s Word said it and I believe it and that settles it, Remember God created Satan which is the highest of His angels, Why, can’t he create a chain that will hold him. Praise God, He can. Amen?

      VIII.      There will be no more wars, Praise the Lord, that is the day the whole world seem to be seeking, one day all this fighting that is going on in our world will cease because there is coming a day that wars and fighting and all this senseless killings will stop. Praise God. (Isa 2:4) ""and he shall judge among the nations and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, and neither shall they learn war any more. O What a day that will be when our Jesus we shall see. It will be great to get to heaven but it will also be great to reign here on earth with Him. Are you prepared to reign with Jesus. All you need to do is receive Him, (Jesus) as Lord of your life today repent of your sins and follow the way of the cross. Put Jesus first and yourself last.

         IX.      And last we will be with Christ, judging the world. (I Cor 6:2) says, "do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world and if the world shall be judged by you , are you unworthy to judge the small matters?. Yes friends, because of our unison with Christ we, His saints, will judge the world. Yes, if you have any unsaved friends one day you might have to judge them. All judgment you remember has been to given to Christ and because of Him one day we will set in judgment with Him. Oh friends tell your lost friends about Jesus, tell your co-workers, tell your friends, and family that know not Him, so you won’t have to set in judgment over them because they to will be saved and be with you. 

            In conclusion you would think that after 1000 years of peace. Prosperity and perfection, no one would want anything more. But human nature is never satisfied, just like many of you who are reading this message you seem to have all it takes to be happy, but you are not, why! Because you don’t have Jesus. At the end of the millennium, Satan will have that old chain we talked about  taken off him, and he will soon gather a large army of people to rebel against a Holy God ,who has been giving them everything they wanted for a 1000 years and now they have turned against him just like they are today. Friends this is the last time for Satan to rebel against God because the Word says they are destroyed by fire from Heaven and Satan is cast into Hell forever (Rev 20:7-10), "And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth. Gog and Maygog together them together to battle; the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went upon the breath of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and  the beloved city and fire came down from God out of Heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceiver them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and and night forever and ever".

After this, God will create a new heaven and a new earth and eternity will begin. Yes friends, if you ever wonder who wins this final battle it is God. Who side are you on? Accept Christ and be on the winning side today.
